Admissions

The selection processes for the programs are detailed on specific notices posted annually on the PPGCF website. The Master’s degree selection process takes place annually, on a date advertised on the PPGCF’s website. It consists of two stages: the first is an eliminatory stage, consisting of a written test, which assesses the applicant’s comprehension of scientific literature in English. Only those who obtain a passing grade in this test advance to the subsequent stage. The second stage, both eliminatory and classificatory, comprises specific knowledge tests in the fields of Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, Organic Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry (for a total of 90 points), as well as resume analysis (10 points). In order to be approved, applicants must score at least 60% of the total allotted points.

The Doctorate selection process takes place continually, at times advertised on the PPGCF’s website. The first stage of this selection process consists of an eliminatory written text that gauges the applicant’s knowledge of English. Once candidates pass this test, they reach the second stage, which comprises two evaluations: 1 – an oral presentation of the dissertation’s outline, followed by a defense before an examining committee (75 points); 2 – resume analysis (25 points). In order to be approved, candidates must obtain at least 70% of the points allotted to each single evaluation.
